The Ida B. Wells Society is hosting a two-day investigative reporting workshop at Syracuse University, Oct. 24-25
This workshop is designed to help professional journalists acquire and add investigative reporting skills to their work as beat or general assignment reporters. Investigative journalists from some of the top news organizations in the country and Syracuse professors will lead sessions that will include how to pitch and manage a project while covering a beat, investigative interviewing, data journalism, and how to use FOIA laws.
Professional journalists are welcome to register through this link. A $25 fee is required to secure a slot. Space is limited for this event. A Submittable account must be created to complete the registration process. Training will take place at the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications, 215 University Place, Syracuse, NY 13210.
